Introduction

We must have been the chosen ones, just as my mother in law frequently claimed. 

For over 30 years and after we, my family and I repeatedly experienced very strange events, I have often wondered "Why my family?".   

The strangest, life altering event that sticks out in mind, that previously made me physically ill when I thought about it, had traumatized us and caused us all to suffer dissociation for years to come. 

However, it is a story called "The Shadow Man" that I wrote which was actually presaged by what my husband called an "Omen" at the time, not knowing what was to happen to all of us  nine months later.

Today, it's not so much about each strange experience in and of themselves as it is about the  anomaly-like strange-ness of them, the number of times they would happened to us,  the duration and finally the life changing results, sometimes devastating result that we endured.  

Having so profoundly impacted us, we can explain them all in complete detail. The problem is, no one would believe it.  

Throughout these strange events, I have learned many things in-depth.  

In fact, these experiences, all of the emotions they caused and the down right trauma is what led me to  Hermeticism, of which today, I have been studying now for about seven years.  

Hermeticism is a word used to identify a philosophical system that is based on the teachings of the Greek Hermes Trismegistus and the Egyptian Thoth.  

Hermeticism is a way of life and encompasses how our material world operates; alchemy, physics, teachings and the concept of reality, planes of life, the laws of the universe and how they operate.  

I honestly believe that the strange experiences and events that occur, caused me to find something that could help me to understand, provide me with peace and would allow me to view people and the world we all occupy, in a very different and empathetic perspective.
